However, it is mandatory to do it through a registered mobile number because the user will receive a one-time password (OTP) for logging in. If the cardholder wants any Demographic or Biometric update then he/she have to pay Rs. 50 (inclusive of GST). Whereas, mandatory biometric updates do not charge any cost.
Firstly, the user will have to visit https://uidai.gov.in/. After this, select ‘Update your address online’ option which will be under the ‘Update Aadhaar’ section of the website. This click will redirect you to the Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal on a fresh tab. Assure that users have a good internet connection.
Now you have to select the option of “update with the valid address proof”
When the user will select this option, he/she have to follow below-mentioned steps in order to complete the procedure
- Log in using the Aadhaar number then complete the CAPTCHA process and then enter the OTP given and then select ‘Update Address via Address Proof’ tab. Kindly, do not share received OTP with any other person.
- Insert the latest address there and select the Preview tab.
- The preview of the new address will be shown, tick the checkbox below and click on the Submit tab.
- Select the Document type which you want to provide like passport, bank passbook, ration card, voter ID card, etc. Now, upload the scanned copy of the document and select the Submit tab. Crosscheck once, that details scanned on a submission copy are clear or not.
- The page will generate a URN (Update request number). Take the snap(photo) of it for future reference.
- Then within 48 hours, your address will get updated.

Updation of mobile number and name on Aadhaar card?
The changes in biometric or other demographic data such as name, date of birth, gender, relation, mobile, and email, the resident can be done by visiting the UIDAI enrollment center. You can locate the nearest enrollment center by selecting the ‘Locate Enrolment Center’ tab on uidai.gov.in. The agent working there in Aadhar Enrolment Center will change the mobile number from the Aadhaar cardholder Database.
Original documents will be needed for the update at an enrollment center which will be handed back to the user once they get scanned and then all the fresh details will be uploaded. Here are some major documents which can ok best like passport, voter id, driving license, etc.
