Generating online PAN cards has been under consideration for a long time, and the Government had already decided to launch an online system under which PAN Cards will be instantly allotted to all those who are having Aadhar Cards, that too in a few minutes. Now, the customer won’t be required to fill up any detailed application form (as done in offline systems). This system will be entirely inline and quick.
On the basis of your Aadhaar card numbers and without using any detailed application form, you can avail of your PAN card instantly. Getting Permanent Account Number (PAN) is quite simple from now.
In the last budget speech, it was mentioned by the finance minister that they have introduced the interchangeability of the PAN card and the Aadhar Card. It was required to become necessary, which simplified the work of providing PAN cards to the Aadhar users easily.
This interchangeability means that both the Aadhar Card and the Pan Card will be used in kind of replaceable forms. By having one in hand, the other can be availed easily. This means, both the cards are equally important.
PAN – Aadhar Interportibility:
The budget of 2019 already mentioned that the card Aadhar card can be used interchangeably with the PAN card regularly. This means Aadhar card number can be used in lieu of PAN card, and this has been amended by the CBDT.
In fact, now the Aadhar holders can get a pan card digitally in just 10 minutes. This is simply on the basis of the person’s Aadhar Card details and nothing else. No filling of any lengthy document is required now, as it was previously.
You just need to get these details. And, on the basis of these Aadhar Card details and e-KYC details, you will get your PAN card instantly.
Follow the steps given below:
⦁ Visit the e-filling portal of the income tax department, and click on “Instant PAN through Aadhar” section, and under that select “Quick links”.
⦁ Select “Get New PAN” on the new page.
⦁ Now, fill in the details, that include, Aadhar card number, and the captcha code. An OTP will be generated on your mobile phones. Validate that OTP.
⦁ Check your Aadhar card details, and then you will get an option to verify your email id also.
⦁ This way, all the data of your e-KYC will be cross-checked and exchanged with the UIDAI.
⦁ Instantly after this, you will be allotted with a new PAN card. Once you get your PAN card, you can download it in the PDF form. This process does not take more than 10 minutes.
Hence, this paperless, free, and easy facility has been available to the customers now. But only a few can avail of this facility.

Q: Can we apply for PAN card without Aadhar?
A: It was not necessary to have an Aadhar card to avail a PAN card previously. Basically one needs to provide with the residence proof, and identity proof. Earlier other documents were accepted. But, today Aadhar card has been made mandatory for applying for the PAN card.
Q: Is PAN card linked with Aadhar card?
